There are lots of things to consider, but most importantly as pete says “There really is no need to worry when it comes to your secondary fires, like the wood burners, gasfires or ecectric stoves, because they are ‘Secondary Heating appliances”.
One thing a lot of people are doing at the moment are upgrading their gas fires at the moment, because many of the older gas fires are not very efficient. The newer ones have glass fronts on them to help contain the heat they create, meaning that you can now purchase a gas fire that is up to 95% heat efficient.
