However, as a prospective purchaser of a traditionally crafted Bransdale wood stove, it is only fair to warn you of the possible consequences of your action u2013 depending upon your circumstances, you may experience lost hours gazing into comforting flames, friends will become more frequent visitors, and you will regularly find your fireside cluttered with pets, children, and assorted family members.
Traditional excellence
For almost four decades, Town and Country Fires u2013 still owned and run by the Thurlow family u2013 have designed and built their distinctive range of quality wood stoves in their factory on the fringes of the North Yorkshire Moors. All stoves are a unique combination of ultra-reliable British steel, highly skilled craftsmanship and state-of-the-art manufacturing techniques delivering stylish and characterful, energy-efficient products which are guaranteed to meet, and surpass, the strictest international standards.
Controllable combustion
The Bransdale wood stove offers a carefully balanced design with the eye instinctively drawn to the compelling symmetry of its flowing frontal arch which frames a large glass window revealing a dramatic full-scale view of the glowing flames. As its restrained and subtly nuanced profile eloquently suggests, the 8-kW output Bransdale is simple to operate, and its excellent combustion can be easily controlled via two front air vents. It will accommodate seasoned logs up to 440mm in length, and can also function as a multi-fuel stove without adjustments to the grate.
Customisable options
Vented through a 6-inch-diameter flue, the Bransdale is available as a flat top stove or with a choice of high or low canopies, and all options can be configured to offer a top or rear flue outlet. Alternatively, an optional steel plinth raises the stove to a higher level whilst also providing a convenient log store underneath. Though black is very popular, the Bransdale can also be supplied in a choice of nine sophisticated colour finishes to match any traditional or contemporary interior.
Ultra-efficient operation
The Bransdale's designers have employed a single-glaze window to recover radiant heat u2013 which other double-glaze designs allow to escape u2013 and an air-wash system uses a flow of hot air to keep the window glass clean, and the view of the fire uninterrupted. And finally, the Bransdale's super-efficient, eco-friendly clean-burn technology incorporates an extra tertiary combustion cycle to minimise the risk of atmospheric pollution
